Brought out of retirement was Mr Shifter and his son who were the stars in the PG Tips television commercials in the 1960's and 1970's. Famous for moving pianos they did a grand job and every Saturday and Sunday our resident pianist plays tunes from the golden age of Hollywood.

Prestons of Bolton brought a sparkling smile to the face of Bolton Wanderers captain Kevin Davies by making a £1,520 donation to the Whites star's charity, KiDs of Bolton. The money was raised from donations made by parents who brought their children to see Father Christmas at the store's grotto in December.
The charity KiDs of Bolton was launched last October to raise money for local youngsters and is already working towards helping deserving children's causes in the area. Prestons manager Sue Hurst said: "We are delighted to support Kevin's charity which will help a lot of underprivileged children in the Bolton area."
